In short
The Shopify audit is an analysis of the whole store: configuration, buying experience, data quality, performance, SEO and GEO. Francesco Guiducci, freelance Shopify specialist in Rome, carries it out personally and delivers a PDF report with evidence, priorities and next steps. It helps those with visits but few purchases, who want to improve or redesign the store, who have accumulated apps and customizations, or who want to check the foundations before investing in acquisition. After launch, when data is thin, the analysis focuses on what can be verified.
What does a Shopify audit check?
A Shopify audit checks six areas of the store: back-end operations, SEO and GEO, catalog, UX and CRO, performance and theme, data and apps. Francesco Guiducci analyzes them starting from Shopify Admin and the storefront, and separates what can be observed from what remains a hypothesis to validate with tests.
- Shopify backend and operationsSettings, checkout, payments, shipping, markets, customer accounts, policies and other accessible admin elements that create friction, risk or needless operational work.
- SEO, GEO and sales channelsTechnical SEO basics and what actually appears in relevant searches: indexing, brand results, snippets and observed competitors. For GEO, accessibility, consistency of information and data useful to AI systems. Accessible channels and feeds are checked too.
- Content, catalog and product discoveryContent quality, product data, taxonomy, images, alt text, collections, filters, search and merchandising, to make the catalog clearer to users and more legible to the systems that interpret it.
- UX, CRO and accessibilityDesktop and mobile experience, navigation, search, product pages, cart, forms, visual hierarchy and the main points of friction in the purchase path, separating observable problems from hypotheses to validate with tests.
- Performance, theme health and codeCore Web Vitals, images, scripts and network requests, plus theme updatability, customizations, app leftovers, duplication and dependencies. Problems are tied to causes backed by evidence, without automatically blaming the number of apps.
- Data, marketing, apps and lifecycleFirst how reliable tracking and data are, then funnels and metrics read in context, taking into account available history, test orders and anomalies. Apps, email automations and message delivery are checked too, to tell what is installed from what actually works.
How does the audit run?
The audit runs in four steps: framing, analysis of the real state, verification of conclusions and delivery of the report. Francesco Guiducci first agrees goals, access and scope, then starts from the Shopify back end and walks through the storefront, without changing the theme or any live configuration.
- ScopingGoals and doubts are gathered, and access and scope are agreed.
- Analysis of the real stateIt starts from the Shopify back end, then walks through the storefront and compares data with observations.
- Checking conclusionsDocumented problems, probable causes and hypotheses are told apart before priorities are set.
- Report deliveryAn opening summary, the analysis, evidence and a concrete sequence of actions.
What is delivered at the end?
The report follows the IFG eCommerce Standard and is delivered as a PDF. Francesco Guiducci explains what to tackle now, what to plan and which activities depend on others. The report can be used with the merchant’s own team, applied independently, or followed by work entrusted to Francesco Guiducci.
A demonstration facsimile with fictitious data exists: it shows the type of report and does not expose a real client’s analysis. To receive it, contact is direct.
What are the limits of the audit?
The live theme and settings are not modified during the Audit. Analysis and execution are separate activities, and custom solutions are defined and quoted only after the Audit. In the Complete Pack the initial analysis is included before the work.
Access and available data determine which checks are possible: where they do not allow a full verification, the limit is stated. Sales, rankings or AI citations are not promised. For a single focused question, technical consulting may be enough.
What do costs and timing depend on?
The cost of a Shopify audit depends on the project and on the analysis of the store, not on a fixed formula. Timing depends on access, available data and store size, and is agreed before starting. The list of services can be viewed on ifgecommerce.com.

Frequently asked questions
- What is actually delivered at the end of the Audit?Francesco Guiducci delivers a professional, actionable report with evidence, issues, priorities and recommendations. Where access or data do not allow a full verification, the limit is stated instead of turning a hypothesis into a certainty.
- Does the Audit change the live site? No. During the Audit Francesco Guiducci analyzes the store without changing live code or settings. He delivers evidence and priorities; fixes are a separate activity. The Complete Pack includes the initial Audit before the work and the final review after implementation.
- Can the report be used to fix the problems with the merchant’s own team?Yes, that is what it is for. Francesco Guiducci’s report works as a work plan: its recommendations can be applied independently, handed to the merchant’s own team, or Francesco Guiducci can be asked to act on the priorities that emerged, with no need to redo the analysis.
- Does the Audit also cover GEO and visibility in AI systems?Yes. The GEO and AI Search part checks the observable elements that help search and generative systems understand the site: content accessibility and indexing, consistency of information and entities, structured data, product data and relevant technical signals. Francesco Guiducci does not promise citations, rankings or guaranteed visibility.
- How is artificial intelligence used in the Audit?Francesco Guiducci uses AI as support for research, comparison and signal analysis. Conclusions are verified personally: the report separates documented problems, hypotheses to explore and aspects that could not be checked for lack of access or data.
- Why is the Audit different from an automatic online tool?Automatic tools are useful and are part of the analysis, but they only measure what they can observe. Francesco Guiducci combines that data with Shopify Admin, storefront, settings, catalog, tracking and business context, to tell a simple signal from a real, prioritized problem.
- What happens after the report is delivered? After the report the merchant decides how to proceed: apply the recommendations in-house or ask Francesco Guiducci for a quote for the work. Custom solutions are defined and quoted only after the Audit, so the quote starts from the needs the analysis revealed.
