Starting point
Vintage Loop is a second-hand luxury bag boutique. Its catalog lived on WooCommerce: Francesco Guiducci built the new site on Shopify and migrated the catalog to the new platform.
The store is live. After launch the work continued on the theme, in particular on how images are shown in the sections that place them next to text.
Changing platform without losing the catalog
In a migration from WooCommerce to Shopify the catalog is the part that cannot be lost: products and collections must reach the new platform and work in the new theme.
After launch, detail needs emerged around images: photos with different proportions should not all be forced into the same format.
From WooCommerce to Shopify
The migration brought catalog and storefront onto a single platform; the later refinements concerned how images behave in the theme.

The work
Site build
Construction of the new Shopify store.
Migration
Transfer of the catalog from WooCommerce to Shopify.
Image proportions
Control in the “Image with text” and “Images with text scroll” sections: natural by default, square 1:1, portrait 3:4, landscape 4:3, panoramic 16:9.
Autoplay variant
In the desktop autoplay variant the 1:1 format is no longer forced.
Safe testing
The modified theme was duplicated and tested in an unpublished environment.
The result
Vintage Loop now has a live Shopify store with the catalog migrated from WooCommerce.
The theme sections that place images next to text now let the proportion of the images be chosen, and the changes were checked on a copy of the theme before being considered ready.
After launch, work on the theme continues
A migration does not end when the site goes live: details emerge by using the site. Working on a copy of the theme makes it possible to try changes without touching the published one.
No client financial data is published, nor commercial results attributed to a single intervention.
