The problem it addresses

Anyone who sells online receives return and withdrawal requests by email, messages or generic forms. They must be linked to the right order, assessed, tracked and often moved into a file for support or accounting. When the flow is scattered, requests are hard to find again and every case needs manual steps.

In the European Union, the right of withdrawal in distance contracts is governed by Directive 2011/83/EU. Directive 2023/2673 amended it, introducing among other things a withdrawal function for contracts concluded online: the so-called withdrawal button. IFG Returns & Withdrawals supports this requirement in the store flow, without replacing a legal assessment.

How it works

  • 1. The customer submits the requestFrom the storefront form, in their own language, even without an account (guest customer).
  • 2. The request meets the orderThe app matches it to the Shopify order in real time and can apply custom tags to the order.
  • 3. The merchant decidesFrom the dashboard, with colour-coded statuses, they approve or reject; approval can be partial.
  • 4. The data stays usableRequests can be exported to CSV in one click and summarised in aggregated PDF reports.

Main features

  • Return form in 30 languagesThe storefront form is localised in 30 languages, including right-to-left layout for Arabic and Hebrew, and accepts requests from guest customers too.
  • EU withdrawal buttonSupports the withdrawal-button requirement of Directive 2011/83/EU, as amended by 2023/2673.
  • Order matchingEach request is linked in real time to Shopify orders; custom tags on the order make its status visible outside the app too.
  • Centralised dashboardAll requests in one panel, with colour-coded statuses and partial approvals.
  • ExportsOne-click CSV export and aggregated PDF summaries, for internal checks and to share data with support and accounting.

When it makes sense

  • Store selling in several countriesA single form in 30 languages lets customers write in their own language without separate channels for each market.
  • Partial returnsWhen only part of the order qualifies, partial approval records it without treating the order as all or nothing.
  • Periodic reviewExports and summaries make it easy to review a period’s returns and share them with whoever handles support and accounting.

Scope and limits

The app supports the withdrawal-button requirement but is not legal advice: the overall compliance of the store, its terms of sale and its internal processes remains the merchant’s responsibility.
